    This past Saturday, Luster’s Pink Smooth Touch and spokeswoman for the brand LeToya Luckett took over River Oaks Mall in Calumet City, IL. The event was a complete success with at least 1,500 people in attendance. Throughout the day there were raffles, giveaways, TWO fashion shows as well as hair and makeup consultations.     Last week, Luster’s Pink Smooth Touch and LimeGreen partnered up for a Chicago Model Call for the upcoming Smooth Touch Hair & Homecoming Mall Takeover event. Models came out from around Chicago to audition for their chance to model that Smooth Touch look and receive products, giveaways, fashion apparel, a hair make-over, and an unforgettable modeling experience. Auditioning models were also excited to compete for an event where  Grammy Award winner LeToya Luckett–the face of Luster’s Pink Smooth Touch brand–will be making a special appearance.

  • How to Integrate Social Media Ads Into Your Marketing Plan

    When creating a marketing plan, it’s easy to stick with the familiar TV, print and online banner ads. While these are all essential components to reaching a target audience, there’s another type of ad that can greatly enhance a comprehensive plan: social media.  FacebookLinkedin and Yelp are some of the top social media sites in which advertising can be used. Here at LimeGreen, three particular sections come to mind when planning an online marketing campaign with social media components.

    1) Target - It is ideal to hone in on who you want to target (rather than have too large of a group). Even if this reduces the size of  your audience, it will almost guarantee that your message will be received. For example, if you are using Facebook advertising to promote a university fundraising event, you may choose to target a list of people who are alumni of the university, ages 25+, who reside in the city where the event will take place.

    2) Ad Content - When designing an advertisement for social media, getting creative with language and images is crucial. You want your ad to be unique and to stand out. To accomplish this, create ads that prompt your audience to ask questions and learn more. For example, if you place an ad for a restaurant, including an eye-catching image of the venue or one of the dishes, combined with language that pinpoints the restaurant’s value, will grab your audiences’ attention.

    3) Constant Optimization and Monitoring – Staying on top of your ad campaigns is vital. The goal is to reach as many people as possible and, in return, have a positive response. By constantly checking up on your tailored advertisements, you can ensure that your desired audience is being reached. If you notice you are not getting the response  you anticipated, change it up by either broadening your target or testing new language and content in the ads. The perfect ad campaign comes from constant tweaking and optimization until your campaigns have hit their sweet spot.

    By following our three steps, integrating social media advertisements into your marketing plan can be a great step to increasing exposure to your target audience and ultimately increasing your business’ ROI.

    When Steve Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976, the future of the company was unknown. On August 24th, 2011, Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO of Apple. Although this marks the end of an era, the impact that Jobs had on Apple’s advertising and creative process is something that will not go unnoticed. An article featured on Advertising Age goes through some of the most memorable ads throughout the years. The advertising examples in the article highlight the best of the best starting with their unforgettable 1984 Super-bowl advertisement. One of the more recent advertisements is for the iPad. As AdAge mentions, the star of the advertisement is the product. The ad is kept simple and to the point and the message is very clear. Clearly, Steve Jobs has made a huge impact on not just Apple, but marketing and advertising strategies for companies all across the world. LimeGreen is looking forward to seeing how Apple will continue their creative and memorable advertising campaigns.

    Over the past several months, QR Codes have been popping up all around consumers. Mashable recently posted an article about how to utilize QR Codes in the marketing world. Granted this article is helpful and interesting, these five tips are not necessarily all true. Keeping the codes simple and making sure to utilize them with giveaways and discounts are great tips for using these codes as marketing tools. QR Codes are definitely everywhere as, Mashable notes, fresh fun and interesting is key. Exposure is important, but over saturation is something that should be avoided. When using QR codes, always ask: How does this help me reach my target audience, and what’s the happy medium between standing out and over exposure?

LimeGreen worked with DeVry University to create a unique interactive Yahoo! login page that will run for 24 hours starting today. The LimeGreen team produced and edited the video clip featured on the login page, surrounded by a page design crafted by our design team for an interactive user experience. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the new page. LimeGreen is proud to partner with DeVry University for their 80th anniversary, the theme that inspired this takeover.
